The traditional world is focused on disease, disorder, and death.

Using functional medicine, we focus on what’s needed to make our patients well—and stay that way.

One day you’re young and enjoying life…

And then the next you’re in the medical hamster wheel you never wanted to be in—and never in a million years thought you’d be in.

You know, the one where you reach a certain age and suddenly…

  • You’re taking numerous pills multiple times a day

  • Doctors’ appointments have taken up most of your calendar space

  • Surgeries and hospital stays become more frequent—along with grueling recoveries

  • A new pill is added to fight the side effects of last month’s new pill

  • Pain, aches, and discomfort are the norm

  • You get to live out your remaining months or years in an assisted living facility that drains your life’s savings—if you’re lucky

Sound not fun? We agree. Sound inevitable? We disagree.

Quantity in life doesn’t have to equal a decrease in quality.

And prevention really is the best (holistic) medicine.

So, if you’re wondering if there’s an alternative way to not only get to the cause of your current problem(s)…

But to also improve your health for the future—no matter what stage of life you’re in—we’ve got great news…

You’re in the right place.

“Let’s build wellness rather than treat disease.”

The year was 1982.

Doug Rinehart & Candy Rinehart - graduation

It was the year E.T. came out. It was also the year I walked across the stage at the World Congress Center in Atlanta to get my Doctor of Chiropractic degree with honors from Life University.

Not long after that, my wife and I left behind the Georgia winter ritual of defrosting our windshields every morning and moved back to South Florida.

After getting my license to practice here as well, I set up my office in its original location on the St. Lucie River, and the rest is history.

Well, not quite.

For years, I went by the book of what I’d been taught in chiropractic school. You guessed it—pop the vertebrae back into place here, here, and here, and that’s it. Good to go.

But I found my patients weren’t exactly good to go.

Sure, it was helpful for people who had point-blank spinal issues and injuries. Like one of my first patients who was so bad off he had to be carried in by a group of guys, but he walked out on his own two feet. (He’s still a regular, by the way.)

But as time went on and less-straightforward cases came in, I knew there had to be more to life than just adjusting the spine.

And then our 4-year-old son got sick.

Cue one rush to the emergency room, countless doctor appointments, months of intensive breathing treatments, numerous medications (including corticosteroids) with a laundry list of side effects, and a toddler who—despite all of this—still struggled to breathe.

That’s when divine intervention happened.

Out of the blue, I was invited to a chiropractic symposium on energy medicine. And it was there that I was introduced to a life-changing version of good-for-you, side-effect-free, effective healthcare.

Dr. Dick Versendaal, the developer of Contact Reflex Analysis (a specialized version of applied kinesiology/muscle testing) and host of the symposium, was gracious enough to come into my own practice the following week and evaluate my son.

And after eight weeks on a holistic treatment plan, my son was breathing on his own—with ease.

That was all my wife and I needed to see.

I became certified in the very thing that helped him, Contact Reflex Analysis, in 1993, and have since spent many years fine-tuning the muscle-testing technique for my own patients. Throughout this journey, I was also fortunate enough to be mentored by Dr. Versendaal himself.

But that wasn’t the only alternative medicine modality I brought into my practice.

Have you noticed there are a lot of terms out here in the holistic health world?

Alternative medicine, holistic medicine, functional medicine, integrative medicine…

Just like all those terms suggest, when it comes to the world of alternative health, there is quite a bit of stuff out there. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and confused—quickly.

But no matter how you spin it or what you call it…

It all comes down to ways to naturally treat the body as one because everything is connected.

As a holistic health practitioner, I’ve done the hard work for you and spent years sifting through the seemingly endless holistic health options out there.

I’m pretty picky and have only incorporated into my practice a few key modalities that have managed to pass one monumental test: they’ve benefited my patients—including my family—time and time again.

That’s why I also became certified in Nutrition Response Testing in 1993 and SCIO Biofeedback in 2006.

Combining tried-and-true holistic health methods with traditional chiropractic care (aka the ability to put the spine back into realignment) allows the body to be put back into true balance—exactly as it was designed to be.

It’s been 32 years since that energy medicine symposium, and my family, my patients, and I haven’t looked back since.

It’s pretty simple: I’m here to help people who’re open-minded to holistic medicine that’s stood the test of time and are ready to live in optimal health.

You’ll start here:

Stuart Chiropractic Center, P.A., waiting room
Stuart Chiropractic Center, P.A., Doctor's office
Stuart Chiropractic Center, P.A., nutrition room

And you’ll end up here:

I’ve recommended many people here and it’s benefited them all.”

I had gotten sick almost 20 years ago, and my mom was worried because I wasn’t eating and normal doctors weren’t helping. So she brought me in to see Dr. Rinehart. I’ve dealt with various things in my life, from sickness to vertigo, and this is the only place I’ve found long-term relief. After an appointment with Dr. Rinehart, I’m able to breathe much easier—I always feel like I have an extra 30% added to my lungs.”

Here’s how it works:

Book your New Patient Examination here.

1.

During your first visit, we’ll go over your health history, scan your biomarkers, do an in-depth physical exam using Contact Reflex Analysis (applied kinesiology/muscle testing) and Nutrition Response Testing, and, finally, use the appropriate treatment method(s), including adjustment.

2.

Enjoy a wellness plan that’s tailored to you and your needs. Oh, and the most important part—start feeling like you again.

3.

I have been to five other doctors, and for quality, personal care I only recommend Dr. Rinehart to any and every one.

After the first visit at Dr. Rinehart's office, I knew that I would only be using him as my chiropractor. I have been to several chiropractors in the past, and Dr. Rinehart is the only doctor that took the time to know me, and did not put me in more pain after the visit.

Due to the stress I put on my body, and physical labor that I do at my occupation, I visit him frequently to be adjusted. In the five years I have been seeing him, I have never left in pain. I always feel great when leaving.

My patients are truly one of a kind

Throughout the years, they’ve given my family and me so many gifts. From Christmas cookies and birthday presents to thank you cards and referrals, the list is really endless. And my gratitude to them is, likewise, endless. My practice wouldn’t be here without them.

But one patient gave us the ultimate gifts: Maynard and Jaxon. (These were definitely not their names when we picked them up in Okeechobee back in 2014.)

The day we brought them home is the day we realized they both get car sick. (Jaxon, immediately. Maynard, as soon as he entered PetCo.)

Maynard

Maynard

Maynard’s my daughter’s dog, and he didn’t have a name. She temporarily named him Tig because of his markings before officially landing on Maynard after the singer of a rock band. But he’s also known as “Tot” and “Maynard James,” amongst about 20 other names.

Jaxon

Jaxon

Jaxon’s name was Punches. We have no idea why and also don’t want to know why. Needless to say, his name was changed within the first five minutes of the drive home. His Christmas stocking’s name is “Poodle Roo.” You’ll have to ask my wife about that one.
